Maikel van der Vleuten wins the World Cup qualifier in Beijing

Today Dutch rider Maikel van der Vleuten won the CSI2*-W World Cup qualifier in Beijing. Many European riders made the trip to China and competed on borrowed horses. Van der Vleuten, riding Ziemar (Metropole x Emilion), had the only clear in this one-round class. His time of 80.14 seconds was enough to earn him the win and 79200 Chinese Yen in prize money. In second place was home rider Bianba Ciren and Montendro (Montender x Polydor), they finished with four faults in a time of 77.88 seconds. Finishing in third was another European rider, Jane Richard Philips. She finished with 4 faults in a time of 78.23 seconds riding Urema (CashandCarry x Acobat II). Click here for the full results
