Marc Houtzager crowned Dutch Champion for 2017

Last weekend is was Marc Houtzager who finally claimed the gold during the Dutch Championship in Mierlo. After winning silver three times and bronze twice he finnally claimed the titel this sunday with hit 10-year-old Sterrehof's Calimero (v. Quidam de Revel) After a second place on thursday it was Houtzager who climbed to first place on friday. On the final day the top rider did not give this lead away during a thrilling last two rounds, that even saw defending champion Frank Schuttert having a run-out on the last jump. Sterrehof's Calimero jumped fenomenal with Houtzager to clinch on to the lead by adding just one time penalty to his final score.  The silver went to Michel Hendrix, who won his first medal at the championship with Baileys. Lisa Nooren, who already won silver in the Young Riders competition on saturday, claimed the bronze.
