Reed Kessler wins Grand Prix qualifier in Valencia

In Oliva, the competition is still going. The highlight of today was the Grand Prix qualifier that was ridden in Valencia. In this class, ridden against the clock, it was Reed Kessler who speeded to victory. She and Cos I Can (Olympic Lux) jumped a clear round in 69,94 seconds. Gavin Harley and Understone van de Kapel (Happy Wind d'Hof ten Bos) took account of the second place. They left the wood untouched and finished in 70,04 seconds. Marc Houtzager and Steerehof's Bylou (Phin Phin) completed the top three. Fourth place went to Anthony Condon and Balzac (Oklund). They jumped a clear round in 73,06 seconds. Louise Whitaker (Rubey VIII) ended on fifth place. In Oliva, two CSI2* classes were scheduled for today. One of them wa a 1,40m class. The class was ridden against the clock. It was the fast British rider Chloe Aston who speeded to victory. Aston jumped a clear round with Cecilia (Coronado) in 59,00 seconds. With this time she was only a bit faster than Riccardo Pisani who ended on fourth place with Freedom Van 'T Heike (Nonstop). This Italian combination left the wood untouched and finished in 59,33 seconds. Maja Burnell and Carnaval Colombo (Carnaval Pleasure) completed the podium. They jumped a clear round in 59,58 seconds. Michael Duffy (Dominant H) and Hilmar Meyer (Salto de Fee) completed the top five. Earlier today, another 2-star class was ridden and in this class the victory went to Great-Britain as well. Abbe Burchmore-Eames and her mare Casti Aneira left all the 1,30m fences untouched and finished in 61,38 seconds. With this timen they beat Hans-Jörn Ottens and Future 92 (For Pleasure). They jumped a clear round in 63,75 seconds. Aisling Byrne and Wellview Classic Dream (Classic Vision) completed the top three. Fourth place was for Benjamin Wulschner and Cometo (Casall).
