Janakabhorn Karunayadhaj victorious in Mostaganem

In Algeria the last class of the day at the Mostaganem Equestrian Tour was the qualification class for the Grand Prix of tomorrow. This class over a height of 1.45m was a Barema A with jump-off. Five of the thirty-six combinations qualified for the jump-off. The victory went to Thailand's Janakabhorn Karunayadhaj. She rode a clear jump-off with the twelve year old gelding Newmarket Venture Clover (s. Newmarket Clover) in a fast time of 40.29 seconds. With the eleven year old Calgot Pleasure (s. For Pleasure) the Thai rider ended in second place. With this mare she also stayed clear and this in a time of 46.53 seconds. Only the French rider Louis Bouhana was faster with the Selle-Français Shamrock du Niro (s. Wonderboy) in 35.58 seconds, but they got four penalties. The top five was completed by Vanessa Norlin with Samsara Mail (s. Iowa) and Rowan Willis with Shark (s. Arko). They got respectively four and eight penalties in the jump-off.
