Start-finishing-line-victory for Gert-Jan Bruggink in Gaston Glock’s Championat

EQWO.net-Press release in order of GLOCK HORSE PERFORMANCE CENTER CSI3* 14 - CSI3* GASTON GLOCK's CHAMPIONSHIP - 1.50 m 2nd Qualifier for the GLOCK's 3* GRAND PRIX  This competition counts for LONGINES Ranking List Start-finishing-line-victory for Gert-Jan Bruggink in Gaston Glock’s Championat Today the GHPC indoor arena was filled up to the last seat at the CSI3* Gaston Glock’s Championat. The audience kept their fingers crossed for all of the 34 participants in this jumping competition with jump-off over 1.50 m. Because this time it was not only about world ranking list points but also about the second chance to qualify for tomorrow’s GLOCK’s 3* Grand Prix. Particularly in the double combination of obstacle 5a/5b and the mighty final oxer number 13, there were quite a lot of knock-downs in the basic round. But eight duos managed to remain penalty-free. As in the first round, so in the jump-off, Gert-Jan Bruggink (NED) was the first starter, setting the pace, and he remained unbeatable till the end. With his 15-year-old KWPN mare MCB Ulke, he took the risks and was rewarded with first place in 40.52 seconds. This was the second big GLOCK success for the Dutch rider after his victory in Gaston Glock’s Grand Prix Magna Racino in May 2015. Second place went to Jaroslaw Skrzyczynski and Crazy Quick, a duo from Poland. They were beaten just by a hair’s breadth, finishing the jump-off in 40.76 seconds. Third place went, in a time of 40.91 seconds, to the defender of the title of the GLOCK’s 3* Grand Prix, William Whitaker (GBR), on Balibu. Austria’s Alice Janout (AUT/NÖ) on Wodka Lime took eighth place (12/56.32 jump-off), the best hosting country result, followed directly by Markus Saurugg (AUT/St) on Texas I in ninth place (4/69.20). 14 - CSI3* GASTON GLOCK’s CHAMPIONSHIP Int. jumping competition with jump-off max. 1.50 m 2nd qualifier for the GLOCK’s 3* GRAND PRIX  This competition counts for LONGINES Ranking List 1. Because the “CSI3* GLOCK’s Perfection Tour” two-phase test over 1.45 m invited contestants to a brisk starting canter and, especially in the decisive second phase, the 40 participants were in no mood to back off. Belgian rider Wilm Vermeir found the best line to follow. With his nine-year-old BWP mare Hacienda d’Eversem, he got all the intervals spot on, achieving best time at 35.99 seconds. "Winning here is quite simple actually - with this delicious food and ambience, things can only go right” said Wilm with a wicked smile in the winner’s interview.  Second place went to his compatriot Nicola Philippaerts (BEL) who, in the saddle on Selle Français gelding H&M Quenzo de la Roque, was just slightly slower with 36.11 seconds. Jonna Ekberg (SWE) and nine-year-old chestnut mare Happiness van T Paradijs delivered the third-best result in 36.62 seconds.   13 - CSI3* GLOCK’s PERFECTION TOUR Int. 2-phases jumping competition 1.45 m This competition counts for LONGINES Ranking List 1. Punkte-Springprüfung mit Joker With a full score to GLOCK’s Medium Tour victory Today the 22 duos participating in the CSI1* GLOCK’s Medium Tour entered an accumulator competition with joker over 1.30 m. Any remaining penalty-free would qualify for a score of 65, and eight duos succeeded. Celine Bradt (BEL) took nine-year-old KWPN gelding Cesar Franck over the finishing line in 48.42 seconds, thereby delivering the best result. "I really didn’t reckon with this”, said the 19-year-old rider. "Tomorrow in the final I would just like to deliver a good and hopefully penalty-free round." Christian Juza (AUT/S), who came second in the saddle of the similarly nine-year-old daughter of Lupicor, Lena 490, was beaten by only 47 hundredths of a second. As yesterday, third place went to Lower Austrian rider Valerie Wick on Gijon van den Hunsberg in 50.12 seconds.   08 - CSI1* GLOCK’s MEDIUM TOUR Int. jumping competition accumulator with joker 1.30 m 1. Sixteen participants in the CSI1* GLOCK’s Small Tour Final competed for victory in an accumulator competition with joker over 1.20 m. The full score of 65 was achieved by only six duos and, in the end, victory went to Styria. Day by day, Theresa Kriessmann was able to raise her game in the saddle of her 17-year-old Bavarian gelding Rochester Bounty and, after 10th place in the opening and second placeon Friday, she managed to secure first place today. Clearly happy in the winner’s interview she stated “Finally today it worked out. I really made an effort and my horse did so too. Here everything is so perfect, so well organised. Simply extraordinary!”  Right up to the last starter, Birgit Peintner (AUT/K) and her horse Gaspari held the lead in the final, only to be pipped to the post by Theresa Kriessmann with a time of 50.82 seconds. Nevertheless the Carinthian rider can certainly be happy after fourth place in the opening and yesterday’s victory. Andreas Hofmann (AUT/T) and his Colman-offspring Colombo Z succeeded in achieving placings on the first two days, finishing today’s finale in 53.52 seconds for third place. 06 - CSI1* GLOCK’s SMALL TOUR FINAL Int. jumping competition accumulator with joker 1.20 m 1.
