Irish showjumper Bertram Allen has announced on social media that he will have to withdraw from the Olympic Games in Paris. "An injury to my horse, Pacino Amiro, means I will not be able to compete at the Games."
Allen and his 12-year-old son Pacino were selected as an individual combination. However, it is Darragh Kenny and VDL Cartello who'll replace Bertram.
"I was really looking forward to our second Olympic participation, but my horse's health is the priority. I will definitely be cheering loudly for our Irish team!"
