In three years, Santa Anita Park will serve as the venue for equestrian events during the 2028 Olympic Games in Los Angeles. This was reported by sources to Dressage News, with an official announcement expected later this week. Originally, the plan was to host the events at Galway Downs. Santa Anita Park previously hosted Olympic equestrian events in 1984.
Although Galway Downs was approved as the proposed Olympic site by the Los Angeles City Council less than three weeks ago, that decision was unexpectedly reversed on April 9. On that day, the LA28 organizing committee informed Galway Downs owner Ken Smith that a different venue had been selected. Smith said he was surprised by the news.
