The long listed combinations from which the British Charles Owen Pony squad will be selected has been announced. A squad of six will travel to Kaposvár in Hungary for the 2017 FEI European Championships for Ponies which takes place from 25th to 30th July. The riders and ponies, in alphabetical order, are as follows: Tom Bird, 15 from Warwickshire, with his own eight year old gelding Night Fury Molly Brown, 16 from Leicestershire, on her 11 year old gelding Ifan Saffron Cresswell, 16 from Worcestershire, and her own 12 year old gelding Cuffesgrange Little Ric Molly Faulkner, 15 from Kent, with Mr John Thornton’s 13 year old gelding Sycamore Lad Connie Gill, 14 from North Yorkshire, riding her 17 year old gelding Hotshots Hattie Grace, 15 from Northamptonshire, and Mr Vincent Jones and Mr Simon Grace’s eight year old gelding Noble Superman Georgina Herrling, 14 from Oxfordshire, with her own eight year old stallion SF Detroit Oliver Jackson, 15 from Nottinghamshire, on Mrs Joy Jackson’s 12 year old gelding Daydream Fourteen Eleanor Mcfarlane, 14 from Hertfordshire, riding Mr Andrew Mcfarlane’s 16 year old gelding Fusilier Saffie Osborne, 15 from Berkshire, riding Lord and Lady Blyth’s 12 year old mare Little Indian Feather and Miss Lucy Robinson’s 11 year old gelding Red Dandy Lucy Price, 15 from Bedfordshire, and her own 14 year old mare Corries Whiskey Iona Sclater, 13 from Hertfordshire, on her 12 year old gelding Foxtown Cufflynx From this a squad of six riders (plus two non-travelling reserves) will be selected to represent Britain at the upcoming FEI European Championships for Ponies; this is however a living list and ponies and riders may be added or removed in the build up to squad selection.
