David Doel takes first outdoor victory at Barocca Horse Trials

For the eventing riders the first outdoor competition of the year started this weekend at the grounds of Barocca d'Alva. At the Barocca Horse Trials it has been David Doel who kept impressing with the grey Eisfee (by Embassy I) during the weekend. The combination finished today in first place with a clear round in both the cross country yesterday en the showjumping this afternoon. They took the competition with a total of 23.5 penalties. In second place it's then Dutch rider Tim Lips who climbed another place in the rankings. Aboard the also grey Lacoste Z (by Lucky Boy) he jumped a clear round finishing in second place with 28.9 penalties. He switched places with Brazil's Marcio Carvalho Jorge and his Lissy Mac Wayer with whom he stood in second place after yesterdays cross-country. Today he finished the showjumping with 4 penalties taking them to third place with 29.5 penalties. In fourth place it was then Belgian rider Joris Vanspringel and Imperial van de Holtakkers (by Quidam de Revel) with 30.8 penalties. While in fifth place it was Regis Prud'hon and Kaiser HDB with 32.5 penalties.   Results
