French eventing teams take Junior and Young Rider gold at European Championships in Fontainebleau

At the European Championships in Fontainebleau, the results of the eventing for Junior and Young Riders are also official. In both categories the French team came out victorious. With the Young Riders the team was made up of Victor Levecque, Romain Sans, Thais Meheust and Victor Burtin. Together they collected only 99 penalties, and Levecque also won the first place individually. The Italian team finished second with 124,2 penalties, Fosco Girardi was the best team member and took the eighth place. The team in the third position was Sweden. They collected 148,1 penalties, Sofia Sjoborg seized the fifth place individually. In the individual ranking, the third place went to Britain's Alex Kennedy, Yasmin Ingham finished fourth. The winning French team with the Juniors was made up out of Anouk Canteloup, Julie Simonet, Chiara Autin and Zazie Gardeau. Canteloup also took individual gold with Daniel del Impermeable, Simonet finished fourth. The team won with 86 penalties, 5,3 points less than Britain. The best British rider was Heidi Coy; she finished second with Royal Fury. Sasha Hargreaves rode to the fifth place. The German team finished third with 92,9 penalties. Brandon Schäfer-Gehrau and Fräulein Frieda took the individual bronze. Click here for all the results.
