New Elite Event Horse Auction at Blenheim

Blenheim International Horse Trials and Brightwells Auctioneers have teamed up to stage the first ever elite event horse auction attached to an international three-day event in the United Kingdom. The auction will be held in the Churchill Arena after the completion of the eight- and nine-year-old dressage phase of the competition (12 September, sale from 4.30pm). The sale catalogue will offer approximately 25 high-quality potential and proven event horses, all of whom will have been pre-assessed for type, conformation, riding and jumping ability and will have passed a rigorous five-stage vetting and X-ray assessment. X-rays will be available at the sale or can be emailed to clients veterinary surgeons prior to sale. Clients will have the opportunity to trial ride the horse while at Blenheim over coloured and cross-country fences. Richard Botterill of Brightwells said: “Brightwells are honoured to be working with Blenheim International Horse Trials and we hope this exciting new venture will produce horses of the highest calibre for the sport of eventing.”
