Germany claimed the gold medal after the eventing world championships in Normandy, France. The British team took home the silver and bronze was for the Netherlands that surprisingly moved from place 5 to 3. At the show jumping phase Zara Phillips rode a clear round while William Fox-Pitt got four penalties. The British victory is a bit overshadowed by the sudden death of Wild Lone, Harry Meade's horse. "I got a lot of support from the team", Meade said. "I couldn't have wanted better people surrounding me. It felt like I was amongst friends." There was not only team victory because William Fox-Pitt got a bronze medal. The first six teams at the World Equestrian Games get a ticket for the Olympic Games in Rio.
