Today all jumping combinations took the start at the Olympic Games in Tokyo. In the first qualifier all combinations took the start in three groups. Only the top 30 will proceed to tomorrows individual finals. Then all pairs start with zero points.
The first qualifier seemed fair with a total of 25 combinations making a clear finish. Top performers where Great-Britain's Ben Maher aboard his amazing jumping Explosion W (Chacco-Blue).
Also Ireland's Darragh Kenny and Cartello (Cartani 4) set a record time. A lot of faults were made in the last line coming from the Japanese wall, into the double combination onwards to the final jump.
For Ireland, Belgium and Great-Britain all combinations qualified for tomorrows Grand Prix.
