The first qualifying class for six-year-old horses at the World Championship in Lanaken immediately brought a high-level field to the start. Riders from both home and abroad delivered particularly fast and faultless rounds in this two-phase class at 1m35.
At the top of the podium, we saw Great Britain’s Alexander McLean, who convincingly secured victory with Miss Contoulonia PS (Conthargos) thanks to a clear round in 24.45 seconds in the second phase.
Germany’s Tom Schewe also delivered a clear performance with Outsider H.J. Z (Oklahoma van de Zelm), finishing in 25.89 seconds to take second place.
For Belgium, Lars van Rossem claimed a podium spot: riding Too Nice Horta (Nixon van ’t Meulenhof), he stayed faultless and crossed the line in 26.17 seconds, earning third place.
Just off the podium, Belgium’s Thibeau Spits rode Touch of Joy Dwerse Hagen (Nixon van ’t Meulenhof) to a clear round in 26.66 seconds, followed by Britain’s Thomas Pritchard with Princess SW (Eldorado vd Zeshoek), who stopped the clock at 26.71 seconds.
