The Local riders continue to claim the win at Al Shaqab in Doha, Qatar. In the Longines Outdoor Arena, Bassem Mohammed (QAT) won the CSI5* 1.45m Faults & Time with Wathnan Zodiak (ex. Zodiak du Buisson Z), producing a clear round in 69.45 seconds.
“It was a fast and short class, with around 17 riders, and it was not an easy one. Five-star classes are always more difficult than the others, but thankfully everything came together well for us today. A huge amount of work happens behind the scenes, we are the ones in the ring at the end, but this result belongs to the whole team.”
The competition, featuring 17 of the world's elite horse-and-rider combinations, proved to be a test of both agility and speed. Mohammed and the 9-year-old grey gelding, Wathnan Zodiak (by VDL Zirocco Blue), navigated the technical course with surgical precision. Stopping the timers at 69.45 seconds, the pair took a lead that would remain unchallenged for the remainder of the class.
On stage Mohamad Mogheeth Alshehab and Saphir Z (Sandro Boy) followed as runner-up while Nasouh Kayali completed the top three aboard his 11-year-old gelding, Kamacho PS (Emir R).
