The Global Champions League competition was won by Madrid in Motion. Maikel van der Vleuten competed in both rounds for the Spanish team. The Dutchman jumped clear with both Beauville Z N.O.P. (Bustique) and the 10-year-old stallion, Quastor vd Heffinck (Rock'n Roll Semilly). He was supported by clear rounds from Jack Whitaker on Izara des Dames (Emerald) and Victor Bettendorf on Atchoum de la Roque Z (Armitages Boy).

"In 2025, we didn't have any overall wins with the team, so we are incredibly proud of this achievement. Not just of this start, but of the effort from everyone who contributes to this," said Maikel van der Vleuten. "It’s truly unique to be able to compete here. It's a bit special to be able to ride on a proper arena right on a beach!"

Viktor Bettendorf added: "I am super happy with how my "younger" horse reacted here in Miami. Eric Van der Vleuten provided the motivation and strategy to save time on the course. In the end, everything came together and luck was on our side."

The Runners-Up

Valkenswaard United followed in second place, trailing by four points. Jan Tops' team is off to a strong start! Edwina Tops-Alexander delivered two clear rounds with Cydello (Cascadello) and Fellow Castlefield (Je T'Aime Flamenco). Gilles Thomas also remained clear with Qiara de Kalvarie (Sea Coast Don't Touch Tiji Hero). In the first round, the Belgian rider started his 10-year-old mare, Qalista DN (Emerald).

"I am super happy with how my - relatively inexperienced - horse reacted here in Miami," Viktor Bettendorf added. "Eric Van der Vleuten provided the motivation and the strategy to save time on the course. In the end, everything came together and luck was on our side."

The Cairo Pharaohs completed the top three. For this team, Annelies Vorsselmans with VDL Kelton (Bubalu VDL), Pim Mulder with Viktor Z (Verdi TN), and Nayel Nassar with Orphea HQ (Emerald) all jumped clear rounds.
