The Trofeo Volvo delivered excitement at the CSI4* Gijón International Horse Show in the Las Mestas arena. In the 1.45m speed class under Table C, thirty international combinations battled for victory and a share of the €29,500 prize pool. It turned into a thrilling competition, with the top three finishing only seconds apart.
The win went to Constant van Paesschen, who stopped the clock at 65.12 seconds with Diaz du Thot (Ready Boy des Forêts 'hn'). Just a fraction behind came Yuri Mansur with Glinka de La Treille (Contendro I), who had to settle for second place in 65.28 seconds.
The home crowd cheered for Julio Arias Cueva, who claimed third place with Conisha des Forêts (Mozart des Hayettes) in 67.15 seconds. The always fast Italian, Emanuele Gaudiano, once again produced a sharp time with Vasco 118 (Vivant van de Heffinck), but a fault pushed him into fourth place.
Fifth place went to Robin Muhr with Foud’Joie de Stel (Vivant), while French rider Jules Orsolini took sixth with Ibrahim (Canturo).
