Japanese show jumper Eiken Sato has shared positive news about his horse Chadellano JRA. After a forced withdrawal during the World Cup Final in Fort Worth, USA, the horse has now safely returned to Europe and is reported to be in good shape.
During the final, the fifteen-year-old gelding suddenly did not seem to feel at his best. As a precaution, it was decided to withdraw from the competition and have the horse undergo a veterinary check. At that point, Sato was still holding a strong fourth place in the standings, but he consciously chose not to take any risks.
Following examinations, the situation fortunately proved to be less serious than initially feared. Chadellano JRA recovered quickly and was able to travel back to Europe with the other horses. According to Sato, the horse is now back in good condition.
In the coming period, Chadellano will be given time to fully recover. After that, Sato hopes to return to competition and once again perform at the highest level of show jumping with his experienced partner.
