In Sopot, the 1.60m CSIO4* Grand Prix was held over two rounds. Course designer Szymon Tarant had built a challenging track. In the end, Italy’s Giacomo Bassi managed to keep Belgium’s Rik Hemeryck from taking the win.
Giacomo Bassi and the 12-year-old stallion Cape Cod (Tornesch) jumped to victory in 43.08 seconds. The pair narrowly beat Rik Hemeryck and Inoui du Seigneur (Jenson van 't Meulenhof) by just 0.2 seconds.
Rik Hemeryck and the 11-year-old sBs gelding were four hundredths of a second faster than Renee Ulvsbjerg and Celeste Balslev (Conthargos).
Just off the podium, Vanessa-Joy Nägele finished in fourth place with Codex S (Codex One). The rider from Liechtenstein pushed Frédéric Vernaet and the BWP gelding Paulus-L (Corydon van T&L) into fifth place.
