No fewer than 18 combinations competed in the jump-off for the 1.55m CSI4* Grand Prix at Sentower Park. For a long time, Lorenzo de Luca (ITA) led the standings, but Nicola Philippaerts ultimately secured a home victory.
Nicola Philippaerts and the 12-year-old Selle Français gelding, Derby de Riverland (by Kannan), jumped to victory in 37.69 seconds. The pair finished just under a second faster than Lorenzo de Luca and the 11-year-old Mangoon, a son of Messenger. Riding the 11-year-old Olympke Van 't Merelsnest (by Vigo d'Arsouilles), Petronella Andersson secured a spot in the international top three.
Andersson finished more than a second ahead of Thibeau Spits. Competing in front of a home crowd, Spits just missed the podium with the 10-year-old Jazzy des Dames (by Emerald). Together with his sBs stallion, Spits stayed ahead of Emanuele Camilli and Chacareno PS (by Chacco-Blue).
