Vagabond de la Pomme was born in 2005, bred by Geert Baertsoen. A son of World Champion Vigo d’Arsouilles out of Sauterelle de la Pomme (For Pleasure x Darco), he came from the exceptional damline of Narcotique de Muze II, one of the most influential families in modern showjumping breeding.

Haras de Clarbec first met Vagabond when he was four years old. “We immediately felt that he was something special,” the official statement reads. At the age of seven, he moved to their stables, where his international career began.

Under the saddle of Pénélope Leprévost, he became a cornerstone of the French team. His impressive résumé includes a second place in the 2015 World Cup Final in Las Vegas, participation in the World Equestrian Games in Caen, and numerous top finishes in five-star Grand Prix competitions. Vagabond was admired for his powerful stride, fighting spirit, and exceptional willingness to perform. “He had a golden character and a heart that always wanted to give everything,” his owners shared in their tribute.

Legacy

Following his sport career, Vagabond de la Pomme became a highly regarded stallion. His bloodline, combining the strength of Vigo d’Arsouilles with the technique of For Pleasure, produced offspring known for their power, mindset, and quick reflexes, the very traits that defined him as a champion. His progeny and descendants are now performing successfully across the globe.

Among his best-known offspring are Exception, Jackson de Regor, and J’adore van het Schaeck. His daughters are also proving valuable in breeding, passing on his trademark mentality and sharpness to future generations.

Haras de Clarbec emphasized in their farewell message that his story doesn’t end here: “His legacy will live on through his offspring, who continue to shine in arenas all over the world.”
