At the age of 69, Dutchman Henk Nooren has decided to end his role as the French Chef d'Equipe. Nooren has been the team manager for five years. He helped the French team, among other things, to the bronze team medal at the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris!
In Barcelona Nooren confirmed the news. "I had hoped for a beter result to end this career," Nooren said. "The Final of the Longines League Of Nations should have been a highlight. But I will remember the Olympic teammedal in Paris for sure!"
'It's an intensive job,' says Nooren. 'Especially in France!' According to Nooren, there are too many competitions, which also makes it an intensive job to select riders. The Dutchman says that he has reached an age where he wants to spend more time on himself.
'I look back with satisfaction on my cooperation with the French federation,' says Nooren in a press release. 'What the future will bring is not 100% certain yet. But I definitely want to remain active at the highest level of our sport!'"
