The CSI5* presented by Giorgio Armani delivered world-class sport in Lido di Camaiore as riders battled it out in the prestigious 1.50m Longines Ranking class. Sweden’s Henrik von Eckermann emerged victorious aboard the Belgian-bred Steely Dan after producing the fastest faultless round of the competition.
Henrik von Eckermann secured victory aboard the ten-year-old BWP gelding Steely Dan with an impressive clear round in 64.99 seconds. The Belgian-bred son of Hardrock Z out of a Cardento mare once again demonstrated his quality at the highest level, giving the Swedish world number one another major international win.
Second place went to Kevin Jochems with Baloe HP (Balou du Rouet). The Dutch rider kept all the poles in place and crossed the finish line in 66.90 seconds. Italy’s Lorenzo de Luca delighted the home crowd by taking third aboard Baskin Smooth Diamond (Diarado) in 67.47 seconds.
Sanne Thijssen narrowly missed out on the podium with Farah Z (For Pleasure). The Dutch rider finished fourth after a stylish clear in 68.86 seconds, while Brazil’s Luiz Felipe Neto de Azevedo completed the top five with Granit de la Mure (Mylord Carthago HN) in 69.93 seconds.
