The third day of Jumping Indoor Maastricht was defined by excitement, beautiful courses, and again, Dutch dominance. From the CSI4 Small Tour* to the Big Tour 1m50, home riders delivered top performances, while international stars such as Henrik von Eckermann and Niels Bruynseels added their names to the highlight reel.
The day opened with the CSI4* Small Tour, 1m40, where Marriët Smit-Hoekstra claimed a confident victory aboard For Chacco TN (For Pleasure. The Dutch rider set an unbeatable rhythm in the second phase, finishing in 27.40 seconds.
Belgium’s Gilles Thomas followed closely with Happy Landais (Andiamo Semilly), while Lars Schröder ensured another Dutch podium spot in third with Casalla Tendra PS (Casallco). The Netherlands dominated the top ten, with Frank Schuttert and Wesley Mulder also inside the leading group.
Momentum carried into the CSI4* Medium Tour 1m45, where Hessel Hoekstra proved unstoppable. Riding Madonna (Apardi), he delivered a blistering round in 57.15 seconds, narrowly ahead of Belgium’s Frederic Vernaet and Okina van de Bien (Toulon), and Niels Bruynseels with Devidanga Sw Z (Dominator 2000 Z). They finished in 57,63 and 58,23 seconds.
The highlight of the day, the CSI4* Big Tour 1m50, brought the crowd to its feet. Henrik von Eckermann and Calizi (Cellestial) once again demonstrated world-class form, winning the jump-off in 34.57 seconds.
Dutch rider Hessel Hoekstra, continuing his superb weekend, took second place with VDL Mindset ES (Aganix du Seigneur) after a smooth double clear.
Belgium’s Niels Bruynseels completed the podium aboard Oaky Flandria (H&M Cabrio van de Heffinck). He rode a fast round in 36,90, but had one fence down in the jump-off.
