Italy’s Piergiorgio Bucci took the spotlight in Verona’s CSI5*-W 1m55 Longines Ranking class, securing victory aboard the Belgian-bred Pallieter vd N.Ranch. The class, packed with world stars, highlighted not only Bucci’s precision but also the dominance of Belgian breeding, with several BWP horses in the top five.
The evening belonged to Piergiorgio Bucci and the ten-year-old Pallieter vd N.Ranch (Cornet Obolensky), a product of Belgian breeder D. Nevejant. The pair delivered a flawless round in both phases, clocking 36.55 seconds in the jump-off, fast enough to stay just ahead of the rest of the elite field.
Close behind, Germany’s Richard Vogel secured second place aboard another Belgian-bred star, Phenyo van het Keysersbos (Corydon van T&L), bred by Hans & Heidi Van Den Bossche-De Keyser. Just a tenth slower than Bucci, Vogel’s performance added yet another top result for Belgian bloodlines on the international stage.
French rider Simon Delestre completed the podium with Gatsby du Tillard (President), stopping the clock at 38.02 seconds. The top five was rounded out by Spanish Armando Trapote on Caept'n Hook (Conthargos) in 40,06 seconds and Edwina Tops-Alexander with Iron Dames Cydello (Cascadello) in 40.16 seconds.
