The Prix FFE / Generali at the CSIO5* in La Baule went the way of Ireland's Cian O'Connor. Partnering Genghis Khan, O'Connor narrowly denied home rider Kevin Staut in a closely contested 1.50m speed class, where the leading combinations were separated by only fractions of a second.
Cian O'Connor secured victory in Thursday's Prix FFE / Generali after producing a faultless round aboard Genghis Khan (Kannan) in a winning time of 59.57 seconds. The Irish rider had little room to spare, as France's Kevin Staut and Feline de Hus HDC (Kannan) stopped the clock at 59.61 seconds, just four hundredths of a second behind the winners.
Third place went to Canada's Erynn Ballard, who guided De Flor 111 Z Santa Rosa (Der Senaat 111) to a clear round in 60.90 seconds. France's Julien Epaillard followed in fourth aboard Le Coultre de Muze (Presley Boy), crossing the finish line in 61.23 seconds. Germany's Daniel Deusser completed the top five with Pepita van't Meulenhof BR (El Torreo de Muze) after stopping the clock at 61.73 seconds.
Just outside the top five, Sweden's Henrik von Eckermann steered Qasirah van de Reistenhoek (Emerald) to sixth place in 62.12 seconds, ahead of Switzerland's Gaëtan Joliat with Chelsea Z.
