Jana Wargers, riding Dorette OLD (Dollar du Murier), a mare bred by Stefan Leue, claimed the final golden ticket. “My mare felt really honest today. In that one last line, I made the difference. I just decided to go for it all the way…” said the German rider afterward. “My focus was really on us as a combination. I had complete trust in my mare, and that made the difference today!”

“The thought that I could win the golden ticket might have been in the back of my mind…”

With a finish time of 41.71 seconds, the German rider kept Denis Lynch and his 16-year-old stallion Cordial (by Casall) behind her. The field of competitors was truly world-class.

Gilles Thomas also left his mark on the final ranking. Together with his 11-year-old stallion Ermitage Kalone (by Catoki), the GCT season champion jumped into third place. Earlier this week, the Belgian rider won the GCL leg. “Today I could really enjoy my round,” said Thomas afterward. “It was an exceptional year! I’m super happy with the opportunities I’ve had this season, and I wanted to grab them with both hands. Ermitage felt super fresh today… it was a really fun class to ride!”

Just outside the podium, Simon Delestre finished fourth with Golden Boy DK (Diamant de Semilly), ahead of Harrie Smolders in fifth with his 14-year-old SF gelding Bingo du Parc (Mylord Carthago*HN).
The slowest double clear round came from Kim Emmen, who followed with her Olympic horse Imagine N.O.P. (Cassini Gold).

Emilie Conter also finished in the prizes, taking 11th place with Portobella van de Fruitkorf (Bamako de Muze).
