An extensive jump-off still delivered exciting top-level sport in the 1.50m main event in Gothenburg. No fewer than 15 combinations qualified for the jump-off. In the end, the last duo to start turned out to be the winner!
In Gothenburg, 15 combinations qualified for the jump-off of the 1.50m Ranking class. First to go in the jump-off was Denis Lynch with the 10-year-old KWPN stallion, King Blue (Dallas, breeder: Q. Van Erp). The pair put pressure on the competition with a clear round in 39.78 seconds.
It proved to be a tough challenge to beat Lynch’s time. In the end, only the last rider to start, Jeroen Appelen, managed to improve on Lynch’s time. The Belgian rider, together with the 13-year-old Dancing Wolf O.L.(Mylord Carthago*Hn), finished in 38.22 seconds.
Donald Whitaker ultimately completed the top three with the 11-year-old mare, Ulania 3 (Uriko). Also clear, Kim Emmen followed in fourth place. Together with her Olympic star, Imagine (Cassini Gold), the Dutch rider narrowly stayed ahead of fellow countryman Maikel van der Vleuten.
Van der Vleuten rounded out the top five with the BWP stallion, O'Bailey vh Brouwershof N.O.P. (Darco).
