Jérôme Guery takes winning start in Stockholm

On Thursday, the international CSI4* show kicked off in the Swedish city of Stockholm. Together with his 12-year-old KWPN mare, Hoselinde (Campbell VDL, breeder: Mts. Van Esch), Jérôme Guery ultimately claimed victory. Guery won the 1.45m opening class by a mere fraction of a second.

With his grey mare, Guery kept Peder Fredricson with Hansson WL (Hip Hop) behind him. The Swede edged out his compatriot Henrik von Eckermann by two hundredths of a second for third place. Von Eckermann completed the top three in the saddle of Calizi (Cellestial).

The duo was followed by Oliver Fletcher who, with Bp Pocahontas (Emilion), finished ahead of Hannes Ahlmann and Tokyo 4 (Toulon). Abdel Said also steered his Zasou Vom Claashof (Zinedine) into the prize money, finishing in seventh place with a clear round. Olivier Philippaerts continued the Belgian celebration with Nobel van de Vrombautshoeve (Nabab de Rêve). Together with Peter Boelens' former star, Philippaerts jumped clear to tenth place.
