Sophie Hinners joins German Olympic legends in 'Olympiakader'

Sophie Hinners, the 27-year-old German up-and-coming talent, has been added to the prestigious German Olympic squad. With her recent impressive achievements, including earning the title of GCL Rider of the Year, the young rider has secured a place among the biggest names in German show jumping. Hinners is part of the 2025 selection with two top horses: Iron Dames Singclair and Iron Dames My Prins.

The German Olympic squad is traditionally formed by a combination of experienced greats and emerging talent. For Sophie Hinners, the move is a recognition of her potential to compete with the best. She joins a group of established riders who have been among the world's best for years, such as Marcus Ehning, Hans-Dieter Dreher, and André Thieme, all icons in show jumping with an impressive track record at international championships.

In addition to these established names, riders such as Christian Kukuk and Richard Vogel, who experienced their breakthrough earlier, are also represented in the selection. 

Composition of the 2025 Olympic cadre

The DOKR (Deutsches Olympiade-Komitee für Reiterei) has selected the following riders for the Olympic cadre:

  • Hans-Dieter Dreher (Eimeldingen, BAW) with Elysium
  • Marcus Ehning (Borken, WEF) with Coolio (Living Legend)
  • Sophie Hinners (Pfungstadt, HES) with Iron Dames Singclair and Iron Dames My Prins
  • Christian Kukuk (Hörstel, WEF) with Checker and Just be gentle (Olympic Champion 2024)
  • Janne Friederike Meyer-Zimmermann (Pinneberg, SHO) with Messi van't Ruytershof -.
  • Jörne Sprehe (Fürth, BAY) with Sprehe Hot Easy
  • André Thieme (Plau am See, MEV) with DSP Chakaria (European champion)
  • Richard Vogel (Pfungstadt, BAW) with United Touch S
  • Jana Wargers (Emsdetten, WEF) with Dorette
