JJ Torano of Wellington, FL, has won the Show Jumping Hall of Fame Rider of the Month Award Presented by Charles Ancona for August. With his other titles from January, March, June and July, this marks the fifth time he has won the award in 2026, breaking his record from his 2025 season when he earned the award three times and was named the Show Jumping Hall of Fame Rider of the Year.
A talented junior rider, Torano competes in the Show Jumping Hall of Fame Jumper Classic Series’ East Conference. For the third consecutive month, he continued to pilot his horses to the top of the leaderboard in several member events of the Series, starting with Great Lakes Equestrian Festival 6. There, he placed third and fifth in the $10,000 SJHOF 1.40m Junior/Amateur Jumper Classic with Vitus K and Kung Fu, respectively. At the Hampton Classic, he and Vitus K went on to win the $30,000 Agneta & Brownlee Currey Junior/Amateur Jumper Classic presented by FarmVet and The Currey Family to close out another successful month. This victory helped the duo earn the Hampton Classic’s 1.40m Junior Jumper Championship and the Hall of Fame’s Rider and Horse of the Month awards for August.
The Show Jumping Hall of Fame conducts its Jumper Classic Series with classes at approximately 80 horse shows each year. The Series hosts classes for junior and amateur riders at both 1.40-1.45m and 1.30-1.35m in two Conferences – the East Conference and the West Conference.
