In her latest episode of Horsebytes Dani G. Waldman, makes her analysis about the difference between USA's East and West-Coast. "It wasn't always the case that the West-Coast was so isolated in terms of shows and top rider show-ups on horse shows..."

After analyzing the competition at the Thermal World Cup event, she concluded that the facility is difficult to access. While many top U.S. riders historically came from the West Coast, the current hotspot appears to be the East Coast.

"Over the past decade, the level on the West Coast has improved, but to be honest, the volume isn’t the same," says Lillie Keenan. "The sport is growing here."

Former Belgian champion Jos Verlooy adds, "Compared to Europe, the prize money is higher—so is the entry fee—but the sport is growing in California. It has the potential to become a top-tier equestrian hub."
