In Doha, the prize pool for the 1.60m Longines Grand Prix was well-filled. After a two-round jump-off, Swedish rider Malin Baryard-Johnsson claimed victory. The Swede earned a prize of over €178,000 thanks to her 17-year-old BWP mare, H&M Indiana (formerly Indiana C&C, breeder: W. Vanderlinden-van Turtelboom-Ruys).
Malin Baryard-Johnsson and the 16-year-old daughter of Kashmir van Schuttershof finished just a few tenths of a second ahead in this 1.60m CSI5* Grand Prix, beating German rider Janne Friederike Meyer-Zimmerman and Jürgen Fitschen’s BWP gelding, Messi van 't Ruytershof (Plot Blue, breeder: Stal 't Ruytershof). The German competitor pushed Emanuele Gaudiano and Chalou’s Love PS (Diablo Blanco) into third place.
Gaudiano and his 13-year-old gelding, bred by Paul Schockemöhle, were followed by Olivier Perreau with Gl Events Dorai d'Aguilly (Kannan). Andreas Schou completed the top five, riding the 12-year-old BWP gelding, Napoli vh Nederassenthof (President).
