Michael Greeve secured a home victory in Saturday’s BOELS Prize at CHIO Rotterdam. The Dutch rider guided Rubens to victory in the CSI5* 1.50m class, with nine combinations advancing to the jump-off. Behind him, riders from Belgium, the Netherlands, and Brazil battled for the remaining top-five positions.
Michael Greeve proved unbeatable in the Rotterdam Arena. Riding the nine-year-old Rubens (Luganer), the Dutchman produced a flawless jump-off round in 40.14 seconds. His time was comfortably ahead of the rest of the field, securing victory in the Longines Ranking class.
Belgium’s Annelies Vorsselmans followed in second place aboard C. Kulottie W Z (Comme Il Faut). The pair delivered two clear rounds and stopped the clock at 46.04 seconds. Just a fraction behind came another Dutch combination, with Elize van de Mheen steering Kes TN (Comme Il Faut) to third place in 46.14 seconds.
Sanne Thijssen narrowly missed out on the podium. In the saddle of Joviality (Warrant), she also maintained a perfect scorecard through both rounds, crossing the finish line in 47.19 seconds to take fourth place.
Completing the top five was Brazil’s Eduardo Pereira de Menezes with H5 Messentus PS (Messenger). The Brazilian rider posted one of the fastest jump-off times of the day in 42.39 seconds, but four penalties prevented him from challenging for the podium and left him in fifth place overall.
