The Dutch top rider, Kevin Jochems, is significantly expanding his string of horses with a series of high-quality new showjumpers. Jochems recently made his debut with two Belgian horses coming from the breeding stable of Leo and Gert Vermeiren: Spitfire and Equitron Ornaat V.
The eight-year-old stallion Spitfire, a son of Chacoon Blue out of Kulana V, was produced up to 1.35m level by Gert Vermeiren. He hails from a proven damline that has already produced several international top horses. The twelve-year-old Equitron Ornaat V (by Ut Majeur de Brecey), for his part, brings an impressive track record.
Under the Austrian Olympic rider Gerfried Puck, he jumped to various victories and placings in international 1.50m classes. Jochems confirms that both horses are in his stables with a view to being sold. For Spitfire, the focus is now fully on the sport, although he will continue to combine this with breeding duties for the time being. The Dutchman is making his international debut with Ornaat V this week in Wuustwezel.
On top of that, Jochems can add two more assets to his stable: Enola Gay of Two Notes Z and Golden Nice Denfer. Both horses are owned by Farid Alejandro Hernandez Herrera, who was specifically looking for a rider who could compete the duo at a higher level in the sport.
With Enola Gay of Two Notes Z, Jochems gets an experienced 1.60m horse under his saddle. The Emerald son previously jumped successfully at the highest level with Wilm Vermeir. Golden Nice Denfer, a ten-year-old mare by Diamant de Semilly, also possesses the necessary international experience up to 1.50m level. With this fourfold reinforcement, Kevin Jochems has added some highly competitive irons to the fire for international sport in one fell swoop.
