Eight combinations qualified for the jump-off of this World Cup round. Bertram Allen and the nine-year-old BWP gelding Qonquest de Rigo (Fantomas de Muze, breeder: U. Goossens) set the tone right away with a clear round in 43.79 seconds. Three French riders managed to improve on Allen’s performance.

In the end, Olivier Perreau rode his 12-year-old Selle Français mare GL Events Dorai d'Aiguilly (Kannan, breeder: Ecurie Perreau Et Fils) to victory in 43.25 seconds.

"I’m very happy to finally win this World Cup." Perreau states after his win. "It was really a goal for me. I didn’t ride the jump-off I had initially planned, but luck was on my side. I tried to give my best, to go as fast as possible, and to stay calm at the end. Winning here with a mare from my own breeding adds an extra flavor to the victory. It’s true that my main profession is still breeding horses."

"I have won my first 5* Grand Prix with GL events Venizia d’Aiguilly. It’s great, now I’ll have to think about the third horse (laughs). As for what’s next, the World Cup is not an objective for me. After two intense seasons leading up to the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, I had a bit of a quieter period. Maybe I didn’t make the best choices in my schedule, but now she’s coming back in great form. I’ll try to manage her as best as I can."

The pair stayed just a few hundredths of a second ahead of Julien Epaillard and the 10-year-old SF stallion Fringan de Vesquerie (Mylord Carthago HN, breeder: G.A.E.C. De La Vesquerie*).

Antoine Ermann completed the top three with the 10-year-old SF gelding Flyod des Pres (Vigo Cece, breeder: A. Bazire). Bertram Allen followed in fourth place, just ahead of Harry Charles. The Brit turned out to be the fastest four-faulter aboard the 15-year-old gelding Casquo Blue (Chacco-Blue).
