At Sentower Park, an international CSI4* weekend just concluded with the Grand Prix of that four-star competition. 49 Combinations entered the basic round and no fewer than 15 of them managed to record a clear first round behind their names. A busy jump-off therefore had to decide the winner. Considering the number of combinations, the riders knew what they had to do: get off to a strong start from obstacle one; a rider who has proven on several occasions that this is one of her specialities, Sanne Thijssen, accomplished that task with flying colours today as well. In the saddle of her faithful partner Con Quidam RB (by Quinar Z), she made firewood of her competitors by jumping a clear round in 34.88 seconds, enough to clinch victory.
Marlon Modolo Zanotelli and Zy-Zento (by Zento) came closest to Thijssen. This Brazilian rider was able to keep the clear and finished in 35.01 seconds, enough for the silver. Andre Thieme and his DSP Chakaria (by Chap 47) completed the top three after a clear round in 36.20 seconds.
Max Sebrechts was the best Belgian in fourth place. In the saddle of Cristel (by Diamant de Semilly), briefly ridden by Jérome Guery, he jumped a clear round in 37.12 seconds. Janne Friederike Meyer-Zimmermann and High Level 6 (by Livello) completed the top five.
