After winning the 1.60m Grand Prix in Doha earlier this month, Scott Brash repeated the feat today with his BWP partner, Hello Jefferson! In the concluding CSI5* Grand Prix of the "H.H. The Father" competition series, the British rider jumped to victory following a 12-horse jump-off.
Scott Brash and his 17-year-old BWP gelding, Hello Jefferson (Cooper vd Heffinck, breeder: B. Mols), secured the win with a time of 52.97 seconds. "Jefferson is a fantastic horse; he is 17 years old now, but he feels like a young horse," Brash said. "He loves to jump, and Doha is one of his favorite arenas—there is so much space here!"
The duo finished nearly two seconds ahead of Megane Moissonnier and the 14-year-old SF stallion, Crooner Tame (Conrad). Only three combinations managed to complete the jump-off without any faults.
Nadja Peter Steiner completed the top three riding the Paul Schockemöhle-bred Mila (Monte Bellini). Finishing just off the podium in fourth place was Philipp Weishaupt with the BWP stallion Oreo D.R. (Kannan).
American rider Kristen Vanderveen rounded out the top five in the saddle of Bull Run's Jireh (Uriko). Abdel Said also qualified for the jump-off, finishing in 12th place with Wathnan Calvaro (Cascadello).
