The new WBFSH ranking cycle has officially begun. The international association for studbooks has just released its latest breeder and studbook rankings, and there’s a new name at the top: Bull Run’s Jireh (ex. UNO 56, by Uriko) has claimed the world number one spot with 1,146 points.
The 12-year-old gelding, bred by Timm Peters, has been on a phenomenal run in the Middle East over recent months. Ridden by Kristen Vanderveen (USA), he most recently secured a spectacular victory in the CSI5* Grand Prix of Doha.
The Top Five Contenders
The Holsteiner leader is currently heading a "platoon" of Selle Français (SF) horses. Dynastie de Beaufour (Diamant de Semilly), bred by Eric Levallois, follows in second place with 1,020 points. She is currently seeing great success under the saddle of Nina Mallevaey (FRA).
Third place goes to the Haras de Montdesir-bred Gangster Montdesir (Kannan), campaigned by Germany’s Richard Vogel. Meanwhile, the former world number one, Donatello d’Auge (Jarnac, bred by S. Epaillard Garcia Cereceda), has dropped to fourth place, holding a narrow three-point lead over Haras d’Ick’s Golden Boy DK (Diamant de Semilly).
Studbook Rankings: BWP Chasing the Leaders
The French Selle Français (SF) studbook maintains its dominance as the number one ranked studbook for 2026. They currently hold a lead of just under 1,000 points over the German Holsteiner Verband.
The battle for the podium is tight, as the BWP follows in third place, trailing the Holsteiners by a mere 41 points. Further down the list, Zangersheide holds the fourth position,
