The CSIO5* Falsterbo Nations Cup came down to a thrilling jump-off after both Switzerland and Belgium completed the two rounds without adding a single penalty to their team scores. Switzerland ultimately came out on top, while Belgium secured an impressive second place. The United States completed the podium.
Switzerland produced a rock-solid performance throughout the competition. Steve Guerdat and Dynamix de Belheme (Snaike de Blondel) jumped double clear, while Jason Smith partnered Picobello Van'T Roosakker to another pair of faultless rounds. Gaëtan Joliat opened with a clear aboard Just Special VK (Falaise de Muze) , while Martin Fuchs and Lorde (Clyde Lvb Z) retired in the opening round before returning with a clear second round. Fuchs was selected for the decisive jump-off, where he finished on 3 penalties in 55.76 seconds, securing victory for the Swiss team.
Belgium matched Switzerland over the two rounds to force the jump-off. Pieter Devos and Primo DV jumped double clear before returning as Belgium's jump-off combination, where they incurred 13 penalties. Thibeau Spits and Impress-K Van'T Kattenheye Z (Indoktro K Van't Kattenheye) were outstanding with two faultless rounds, while Nicola Philippaerts and Katanga V/H Dingeshof (Cardento) added four faults in the opening round before producing a clear second effort. Abdel Saïd and Wathnan Quaker Brimbelles Z (Quicksilver St Simeon) contributed a clear first round followed by four faults in round two.
The United States claimed third place with 8 penalties, while France and Ireland rounded out the top five, both finishing on 12 penalties.
