The consolation class for the six-year-olds at the FEI WBFSH Jumping World Breeding Championship in Lanaken offered a fine spectacle for the audience at Zangersheide. In a 1.35m course against the clock, it was Belgium’s Thian van Hoydonck who found the ultimate balance with Takashi (Centurio). Clear and with a top time of 53.10 seconds, he left his competitors behind.
Close behind followed Ireland’s Eoin Brennan, who guided Fernhill SDF Five Star (Big Star) smoothly through the lines to stop the clock at 54.45 seconds. Bronze went to the Netherlands, where Bas Moerings piloted Ovinia (Ipsthar) efficiently and effectively into third place in 55.85 seconds.
Fourth place went to Poland’s Tomasz Miskiewicz with Vodkatini (Viscerado), who despite taking a slightly wider track still reached the finish in 57.89 seconds.
The top five was completed by Italy’s Filippo Sertori, who stylishly guided Ta Belle van ’t Heike (Heartbeat) around the course in 58.09 seconds, securing his spot among the leaders.
