Thomas Tuytens (Kentucky): “Our sector is in urgent need of professionalisation!”

© Equ.MEDIA

On a sunny winter’s day, we head towards the Flemish Ardennes, where final touches are being made to the new headquarters of Kentucky Horsewear. “We’re planning an official opening for our new office and flagship brand store… but it has to be finished first,” says founder Thomas Tuytens. We are immediately given a tour of the showrooms, offices, and the impressive semi-automated warehouse. “We have over 900,000 items in stock here! And yet, we’re actively looking for brands to acquire and expand our range,” Tuytens adds with enthusiasm. The professionalism is palpable; Kentucky Horsewear is well on its way to becoming a unicorn in the sector. While that may sound a bit premature, it’s a compelling reason to discover the story behind Kentucky.
