Recently Abdel Said announced to have acquired a new Grand Prix horse for his rider, Samuel Hutton. The Great-Britain showjumper, who's a part of Abdel Said's team, has now said goodbye to two talented horses. Both Leeuwin Van de Moerhoeve and Commander HK Z have found their new home in the United States of America!
The 14-year-old BWP mare, Leeuwin van de Moerhoeve (by Diamant de Semilly), was trained internationally by breeder-rider Kurt De Clercq. After a period with Jonna Ekberg and Canadian rider Susan Horn, Olivia Kinneson took over the reins in 2023. The pair jumped up to the 1.50m level. Earlier this year, Samuel Hutton took the saddle.
In that short time, the combination made it to the 1.45m podium in Ocala and placed in the top 10 of the 1.45m CSI2 Grand Prix*.
The approved stallion Commander HK Z (by Comme Il Faut) has also left Said’s stables. The stallion was one-third owned by Said, one-third by Victor Theeuwes, and one-third by Tim Van Hal.
Last summer, Hutton rode his final international round with the stallion in Riesenbeck. Previously, Olivia Kinneson and Joe Clee also rode him. Commander HK Z is a young stallion who already has two approved offspring. In the future, the son of Comme Il Faut will represent the American flag.
"From the day he was born on our farm we knew he was special." Olivia Kinneson reacts. "Everyday he loved to show himself, to work, to improve and to deliver. We have had some great horses during the years but the feeling on this one feels like a privilege to have experienced. Good luck with your new owner in America."
"I want to thank Samuel Hutten for the great results he achieved with these horses. I’m happy to welcome Emma and want to further focus on my American journey. The sale of these horses is actually a business card and represents a step forward in my further development," says Abdel Said.
