Chellano Alpha Z passed away

With an aching heart Stud Zangersheide announces the death of one of its dearest stallions, Chellano Alpha Z. On August the 10th the 11-year-old stallion died of the complications of colic after double surgery.

The story of Chellano Alpha Z represented one of the milestones in the history of Stud Zangersheide because this stallion was the stud´s first clone and ditto-approved stud stallion. After Chellano Z passed away in 2006, Léon Melchior was adamant not to lose the genes of this exceptional sire for breeding. Chellano Z´s stud services at Zangersheide were taken over by Chellano Alpha Z, which he did with flying colours.

The first generation of Chellano Alpha Z foals was born in 2013. The stallion leaves behind dozens of extremely promising offspring that week after week increasingly manifest themselves in international classes for young horses. He himself has also sired several approved sons, such as Cosmos Z and Cappuccino JW vd Moerhoeve Z.
