Philipp Weishaupt's Grand Prix and Olympic horse, Zineday has changed stables. The Westphalian gelding, who until now competed for Germany, will now be seen under the American flag. Zineday has been sold to Eve Jobs, daughter of the late Apple founder Steve Jobs, and will enter the international show jumping scene in American colors.
"Zineday, Philipp Weishaupt's top horse, has left the stables in Riesenbeck. The ten-year-old gelding by Zinedine out of L.B Paola will be ridden by the US-American Eve Jobs in the future. We wish the pair all the best for the future.", said Beerbaum Stables.
His career with Philipp Weishaupt
Zineday, born in 2014 and bred by Franz-Georg Ottmann, has built an impressive record under Philipp Weishaupt. After being trained by Olympic champion Christian Kukuk, the horse began his career with a second-place finish at the Bundeschampionat. Starting in 2021, Weishaupt led the talented horse to several victories and places of honor in international competitions. Their partnership culminated with a silver medal at the European Championships in Milan, where they were only narrowly beaten by Steve Guerdat.
Zineday's performances in major competitions, such as third place in the Grand Prix of CHIO Aachen in 2023, made him a horse to keep an eye on. At the Paris Olympics, he once again showed his class. Although the German team finished in fifth place, Zineday delivered the best performance of the German camp with Weishaupt.
Representing American colors, or British?
Eve Jobs, the youngest daughter of Apple founder Steve Jobs, has emerged as a talented rider in international show jumping in recent years. It is still unclear when Jobs will ride the horse for the first time, but there is speculation that her partner, British show jumper Harry Charles, may make the first rides. Charles, who himself has an Olympic title to his name, is well versed in the demands of top-level sport.
