On her Facebook Canada's Tiffany Foster has announced the retirement of one of her top horses. The Baloubet du Rouet-zon, Southwind VDL will start to enjoy his new life in green fields and without the sport. Aged 17-year-old, the gelding will spend his retirement at Cameron Hanley's yard. In 2008 the international career of Southwind kicked-off with Cameron Hanley. After several top 10 classifications and a short period under the saddle of former World Champion, Jos Lansink, Soutwhind ended up with his first international victory. In 2011 the gelding won the Nations Cup in La Baule and not long after, the horse moved to Artisan Farms and his new rider, Tiffany Foster. Their first big show, the CSIO5* in Calgary was an instant success with a second place. In July this year, the combination competed for the last time at the Spruce Meadows Grand Prix. Eventually they placed fifth. Now the gelding moves to White Heart Farm in Germany.
