Despite a bit of rain, the coziness brought more than enough warmth during the fourth edition of Foal Auction 111! According to annual tradition, a donation was made to charity: a boarding school for children with hearing problems in Bila Tserkva. It was Jan Willem Baas from Tracomex B.V. that ensured a good dress rehearsal for 3.000 euros...
And he was a good role model: the second foal, Surprise van d'Hemelse Breedte, became the auction topper for 19.000 euros. This filly by Untouchable comes from the strain of Ta Belle van Sombeke and is undoubtedly a good investment!
Helsinki van de Molendreef and Crumble van 't Ameldonk were also very popular for 17.000 euros. Helsinki, a modern Halifax van de Kluizebos son out of the dam line of Coral Reef Via Volo, will later strengthen Carmen Christiaensen's stables. The Comme Il Faut son Crumble, out of the 1m45 jumper Dorina du Domaine, moves to the United States of America.
But that was not the only international buyer who greatly appreciated the collection! Malin Baryard Johnson, for example, invested in Nadira van het Stokste, a Kashmir of Schuttershof daughter and also the half-sister of Christian Ahlmann's Wilco 52. In addition, there were bids from Portugal, Mexico, Germany, Morocco, Italy and France. Harry and Victor Theeuwes also invested in their own collection: they bought Siënno Fields M, a son of Marschal Fields 111 from the same dam line as the Holsteiner Calypso brothers.
The embryos also received the necessary appreciation: the embryo of Cornet Obolensky x Elvis Ter Putte was auctioned for 20,000 euros. The Cornet Obolensky x Chatman embryo went under the hammer for 18,000 euros while the Diamant de Semilly x H&M Tornesch changed owners for 16,000 euros. That brought the average price to 13,500 euros!
