Last Saturday time stood still for the Dutch show jumping rider Aniek Poels. She left the arena with a limping horse after a mistake on fence number eight in the speed class. The 15-year-old gelding got injured. On the X-ray's there was no fracture noticed, but further research showed a torn tendon. With this result Poels was forced to euthanize her trusted horse. "I hoped to give him a long lasting retirement. Baggio was one of those exceptional horses I could build on," states Poels.   Last summer the pair was back in action after a long resting period of three years. In 2013 the gelding was out of action after a tendon injury at the Nations Cup in Al Ain. Recently they placed second in the CSI2* De Peelbergen. "Never say never but I don't think I'll ever find a horse like him again. He was a real Heartbreaker, you could never let go or sit back and relax. There was always a chance he would jump away or get something in his mind. I learned a lot from Baggion, he ment the world for me. The results we jumped together I won't jump anymore with an other horse, he was exceptional."
