Belgium claims gold in Young Rider European Championships

At the European Championships for the yought, in Wiener Neustadt, the first medals have been divided. The Belgian young riders took home the gold medal. Rik Deraedt and his team were in the lead after the first round. Today the second round was ridden. The Belgian squad finished with a total of four points. Jonas Vervoort and Delight had one rail down, while compatriots Michael van den Bosch (Atilja), Boy-Adrian van Gelderen (Be Cool) and Pieter Clemens (Quality II) finished clear. A separate jump-off will decide what countries will take home the silver and gold medal. After the first round Ireland, Germany, the Netherlands and Italy were still in the running and have now to ride for the other medals. The jumps were set at a height of 1.50m.
