Last weekend living show jumping legend, John Whitaker, was a shining star in Hong Kong. Yet the British rider was almost forced to hang up his boots at the end of 2000. At the beginning of the year 2001 Whitaker was forced to put the horses on stable after several injuries he got participating at the CSI Stockholm, Sweden. In December 2000 Whitaker underwent surgery twice. Although the doctors strongly doubted the rider would still be able to ride, he made his come back. Not without success it seems. Only 59 Springs young he still continues to amaze us and safe his spot at the top of the world.
